Press Release: Buy A Song To Support A Cause

This effort supports Coalition on Homelessness, WRAP & Literacy for Environmental JusticeJay Trainer Band has partnered with Artfulchange on a new campaign called Power Of The Arts and is aimed towards promoting local San Francisco causes as well as financially contributing to their work. The band is donating 50% of the proceeds of select track sales off their new EP, when purchased through the Artfulchange Power of the Arts campaign.

Artfulchange is a collaboration of artists and environmentalists. They seek to construct thoughtful alliances in hopes of solving some of the world’s most pressing environmental and social problems. Artfulchange utilizes the arts as a catalyst for social change. Their aim is to provide opportunities to everyone to incorporate activism into their lives in the framework they have constructed.

Jay Trainer Band and Artfulchange are currently partnering with three local nonprofits on this initiative and are working diligently to grow the list of beneficiaries. As Jay puts it, "The core principle behind Artfulchange is using our passion for the arts to have an impact on these issues.  We are creating opportunities for people to enjoy the arts and at the same time know that the money they are spending is going to make a difference."

About The New EP
Recorded at Sunset Studios and Get Reel Productions in San Francisco, California, the themes of these tracks illustrate the changes in Trainer’s own life over the last several years. The EP is a journey through Trainer’s awakening to the many social and environmental dilemmas present in our world today. Trainer’s worldview has expanded considerably in the message of this most recent release while simultaneously prompting him to create his own non-profit, Artfulchange; dedicated to alleviating the pressures of social and environmental injustice through the arts.

About Jay Trainer Band
Trainer’s music has always explored themes of the inner-turmoil of the human experience. On this release, Trainer delves deeper, inviting us to probe into the bedlam of our collective human experience. He does not shy away from touching on social and political issues in his music, rather, this candor adds to the openness and honesty of the album, ultimately creating a piece of work with a veritable openness that cannot be restrained.

Having shared the stage with national acts including North Mississippi All Stars, legendary guitarist Dickey Betts, Robert Walter's 20th Congress (founding member of The Greyboy Allstars), Cowboy Mouth and Vinyl, Jay Trainer Band has secured a foothold in the West Coast music scene with a rare combination of infectious backbeats and guitar driven grooves. With the release of the newest EP and the next full-length album in the works, the band is poised to build upon its success and continue to capture the hearts and minds of music fans everywhere.
