Mobilization for Climate Justice is organizing some big events right here in the Bay Area! In conjunction with the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina they are organizing teach-ins, direct action trainings, and planning meetings to fight against big oil.

Big Oil makes billions, while buying and lobbying governments for subsidies, against public oversight, and against solutions to climate change. Greenpeace Activists Shut Down BP Petrol Stations in Central London

The Energy Revolution is a reality in central London today as Greenpeace activists in the UK close down and re-brand forty-six British Petroleum petrol stations.

Activists assembled signs that read, ‘Closed. Moving beyond petroleum’ and covered the petrol station signs with a new BP logo.

This bold action makes it clear to BP that we want to see them really move “beyond petroleum” and halt environmentally destructive actions like deepwater drilling and the Canadian tar sands.
